I don’t know why, but when life is good, sometimes I think ‘Uh oh, what’s gonna come through and blow this moment?’. But, I have learned to quickly squash that and be less of a control freak. You and I deserve good times. Life is supposed to have beauty and peace. Right? Right! So, let’s ditch the worry. Let’s pile on the motivation instead. Life is supposed to be good.
Girlfriend, when the good times come, bask in them, soak them up, live hard and laugh loudly. From experience, I can say that when you live long enough, you see that you just gotta enjoy the ride.
So why am I in this pensive mood!!! Well, it’s because I had such a great simple birthday weekend/Mother’s Day. But, I almost ruined it wishing life could always be so simple and sweet. No honey! That’s not how it works. You don’t miss a moment to wish for more moments. You must be present and LIVE in it. So, I got it together and did it anyway!
So, as I share with you, I remind myself that it is the rain that waters the dry, parched ground. It may not be fun to work in the rain but it brings the growth we need to survive. So it is when the rain comes in our lives. It comes to take us through to another level. If you’re currently in a rainy season or even a monsoon, take heart, the sun will soon shine. Until then, enjoy the journey when life is good and when it’s not. You’re on a journey. Enjoy it all.
As always,
Do It Anyway!
Do you have a memory of when something bad ended up working for your good? I’d love to hear it. People need to hear it. Comment below.
For starters, I really enjoy how inspirational your posts are. I read them often and I find most of them coincide to my internal thoughts right at that moment. So, thank you for writing.
Second, the experience I had that ended up being a blessing in disguise was when I found out my husband of 12 years was cheating on me for the second time in our marriage. We have three beautiful daughters together and I wondered how I would do it alone. Turns out, I was doing most of it alone anyway. I am a much happier, healthier individual now than I ever was while married. I’m thankful for the learning experience and the children it brought me.
Amy, thank you for your kind words. Thank you as well for sharing your pain that ended up being so purposeful. I am sorry to hear how it happened, but I am so glad you are free. I have a similar bad to great moment like that. I commend you for your strength to leave and do what’s best for you and your beautiful girls. They learned from you what not to take from a man that says he loves you. God bless you evermore on your journey!
